Surface Computing

Surface computing is the term for the use of a specialized computer GUI in which traditional GUI elements are replaced by intuitive, everyday objects. Instead of a keyboard andmouse, the user interacts directly with a touch-sensitive screen. It has been said that this more closely replicates the familiar hands-on experience of everyday object manipulation.
Early work in this area was done at the University of Toronto, Alias Research, and MIT. Surface work has included customized solutions from vendors such as GestureTek, Applied Minds for Northrop Grumman.Major computer vendor platforms are in various stages of release: the iTable by PQLabs, Linux MPX, the Ideum MT-50, and Microsoft Surface.

A huge new UFO mystery has started in England recently, after a string of sightings of bright orange lights in the night skies over East Anglia were spotted. The dazzling light shows have bewitched and intrigued eyewitnesses all over Norfolk and as far south as Ipswich, Suffolk. John Young, 43, of Sprowston, near Norwich, who was stunned when he woke up at about 3.30am and looked out of the window, grabbed his camera after spotting a strange shining light. How to reduce Heartburn

The first thing to check, if you suffer from heartburn, is your diet. Pay good attention to what you consume.

1. Another factor that is responsible for heartburn is stress. Try and meditate for a few minutes daily.

2. Spicy foods and sweet treats and even some tomato-based products can give you heartburn, so avoid eating them.

3. Include ginger in your diet — it could be in any form. Ginger is known to be a good digestive and is a good cure for heartburn.

4. Following a diet that is rich in green leafy vegetables is also a good idea.

5. Avoid drinks that can trigger reflux, such as alcohol, caffeinated drinks like coffee and carbonated drinks like colas.

6. Eat smaller and more frequent meals. A full stomach can put additional pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter, which will increase the chance of some of this food refluxing into the esophagus.

7. Elevate your head a few inches while you sleep. Lying down flat presses the stomach's contents and can cause heartburn. With the head higher than the stomach, gravity helps reduce the pressure.
